Agency Celebrates First Year

January 2008 marks the first year Marketing Partners has been in business in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lucinda DeVries started the agency with a very particular goal in mind, to become a partner in business with the client, not just another agency. This philosophy came from the years of working in agency and corporate marketing.

Lucinda DeVries said, “It occurred to me that marketers are afraid to tell a client what works and what doesn’t. You have to encourage open communication. They rely on us to tell them the truth about the results of campaign efforts.”

Marketing Partners has a unique system for tracking results of campaigns. The results are third party statistics and are presented to the client as such. They use various methods to track each tactic individually and are able to calculate the cost down to each lead. This method is not perfect because many clients do not have a baseline to measure it against. The challenge is to compare over time the tactics and the effectiveness versus the cost to make the best business decisions.

“Telling a client that the results of a radio spot or any other tactic that cost them thousands of dollars didn’t work as well as it was planned is not easy. But, to allow them to continue spending money on ineffective marketing is unethical”, Lucinda said. “It should be about doing what is right for the clients bottom line, not the agencies.”

Lucinda adds, “The best feeling in the world is sharing with clients how well the tactics are working and to know you have made an impact.”

Marketing Partners real estate clients have been very happy with the measurements provided. “I was referred to Marketing Partners by one of their other clients”, said Dave Crete, owner of Trail Ridge Estates in Southern Utah. “Lucinda understands about partnering with her clients and that building long term relationships is important.”

During the first year of business, Marketing Partners has worked with various companies in real estate and is looking to diversify in 2008, getting back into healthcare marketing. Lucinda started her career in Orange County California working at an agency specializing in healthcare marketing. That combined with her experience working in the hospital setting for over 5 years gives her an added edge.

Lucinda said, “I have had the opportunity to work with patients and see first hand what is important to them and their family. I know what goes into patient satisfaction and I can bring that knowledge to my clients.”
